We are each unique in many profound ways and yet we are very similar to one another.
As humans, we are wired to connect and there is an innate driving force for us to be alike.
This is the premise of a remarkable lesson I learned from Tony Robbins – how to model other people.
Putting this lesson into action has lead to today – a very Merry Monday for me!
I participated in a speech contest and won first place in Table Topics. I laughed and enjoyed my life. I connected with others and shared in their experiences.
But how did I get so comfortable?
I did not possess these communication skills three months ago.
I learned something. I put it into action. I gathered feedback. I improved my process consistently…
And here I am today, repeating the behavior almost on a subconscious level.
Naturally, I try to remain in a positive and high energy state which I use to boost my friends, family, and coworkers.
I have developed my listening skills, I talk about what others want to talk about, and I treat others how they want to be treated.
Through modeling their behavior (body language, hand gestures, eye contact, vocal variety, energy, mood, etc.) I have become someone who can truly get along with anyone.
With this ability to connect in a snap, I can have a great time being just like someone.
Of course, I’m not so obvious about copying their movements or tone rather I am matching them on their level.
This is the gem for today. When you are meeting someone new, or talk to someone you know already – match them on their level.
This works no matter if you’re twenty or fifty. It works for students, professionals, and even intimate relationships.
Just try it out! Model someone with no intent to manipulate them, but rather to improve your communication and your connection with them.
That is all! I sincerely appreciate you for reading my blog. I use your feedback to create the model for my content so please comment on how you connect with others.
Have a super day!

It takes a profound friend like YOU to know when something is profound! 🙂
I’m glad we found each other at UH, and I’m really glad Rihanna found love in a hopeless place! 😀
